Matthew S. White

Matthew White, CFP ®,  leads Decker Wealth Management's financial planning practice, serves on the firm's investment committee and assists in the management of client portfolios.

A native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Matthew moved to Nashville over 20 years ago to attend Lipscomb University. He fell in love with area and knew that this would be where he made his home. After completing his degree in Political Science, Matthew worked as a policy analyst for the Tennessee House of Representatives.

While in college Matthew enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He was twice named Marine of the Year for Company I, 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with gold star), the Select Marine Corps Service Medal and the National Defense Medal.

After his time in the legislature, he was offered a position at a major wirehouse brokerage firm and so began his career in financial services over twelve years ago. He has since worked for one of the world's largest banks and helped establish a Middle Tennessee office for a rapidly growing regional brokerage firm. In 2011, over lunch with his good friend Bill Decker, they discussed possibilities for the future and Matthew joined the firm shortly after, as it is the perfect blend of values and vision for how best to serve clients.

Matthew lives in Columbia with his wife and three children, where they are active members of Maury Hills Church and he serves as the church's assistant treasurer. He and his family are also very involved at Zion Christian Academy, in addition to numerous charitable and civic organizations.

Tom Boyd

Tom - with his 40 years of experience in banking and financial services - is the new guy at Decker Wealth Management, and we couldn’t be happier to have him. He has brought new opportunities to our firm and a fresh perspective that has influenced our thinking in wonderful ways. It has been amazing going into his hometown with him and hearing from people that have known him since he was an All-State center at his high school, playing for MTSU, or coaching tennis to this day with his wonderful wife, Martha. We only get a seat at their table because of his character and service to the community through Fellowship of Christian Athletes and his longtime membership at his church, among other countless community endeavors. He is a wonderful man and it is a privilege to be awarded an opportunity to learn so much about business - and more importantly - life from him.
